Seven Chiefs Players To Target In Fantasy For 2022

August 19, 2022

Which Kansas City Chiefs players should you pursue in your fantasy drafts this season? Outlining seven targets to consider for your team this year.

With the start of the NFL season approaching, fans are looking forward to one of the best parts of football. It is officially fantasy football season once again. Fantasy owners tend to draft players from their teams or players they like to watch. In the following, I will give you my seven must-draft Chiefs players for the upcoming fantasy football season.

Three Must Draft Chiefs Players For Fantasy This Season

Patrick Mahomes:

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes enters the fantasy season ranked as the second-best quarterback in the NFL. Mahomes will once again lead the Chiefs’ high-intensity offense this season. He was the fourth-highest-rated quarterback last season and is looking to take it to the next level this season. Expect to draft Mahomes anywhere between rounds two and four.

Travis Kelce:

Travis Kelce is arguably the best tight end in the NFL, and it shows with his fantasy production. Kelce was the number two tight end in fantasy last season. With the loss of Tyreek Hill, Kelce will be expected to carry the offense this season and lead the team in targets. Expect to draft Travis Kelce in rounds one through three.

JuJu Smith-Schuster:

This offseason, the Chiefs signed Smith-Schuster to help strengthen the wide receiver group. He has been inconsistent over the past few years with injuries and an older quarterback in Big Ben. With Kansas City picking the wideout up this summer on a one-year contract, he hopes to rebound to the receiver he used to be. Smith-Schuster will be a key piece of the puzzle for Mahomes and the offense this year. Look to draft Juju around rounds six through ten.

Mecole Hardman-

With Tyreek Hill now in Miami, the Chiefs can finally use Hardman like they did when they drafted him. He will be a big part of the offense this season. During training camp, head coach Andy Reid used the wide receiver in a number of different ways; as a slot receiver, running back, and even quarterback in a Wildcat formation. Since Hardman is used in so many different ways, he could be a great fantasy addition to your team this year. Target Hardman in rounds six through ten.

Three Late Round Sleepers For The Chiefs In Fantasy This Season

Isiah Pacheco:

Chiefs rookie running back Isiah Pacheco has a chance to be a big part of the offense this season. With Pacheco’s success in camp and common injury problems for the two running back in front of him, Pacheco could earn himself a starting spot later in the season. Pacheco is valuable in both the rushing and passing game. A rookie running back deserves a chance in the later rounds of the draft.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling:

With the Chiefs losing some of their deep ball threats from last season, Valdes-Scantling is in a prime position to fill that role. “MVS” comes over from the Packers where Aaron Rodgers loved to stretch the field with him. Another big part of his game is his size. He is a big-bodied receiver that should excel in the RedZone. Look to stash him in the later rounds of your draft.

Skyy Moore:

The Chiefs selected Skyy Moore in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Moore is currently working his way up the depth chart. He has been used in the backfield as well as the slot. If Moore can continue to improve, he will position himself well on offense. Look to draft Moore in the last couple of rounds of your drafts.

If you love drafting Chiefs players and the ones above aren’t available, there are a couple other players to keep in mind. Chiefs kicker, Harrison Butker is a great option if your league has a kicker. A couple of other players to keep an eye on is running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire and tight end Jody Fortson. Both players can see extended reps in the RedZone this season.
